I’m trying to get in touch with the work going on out there in the world of DH, since I am but a lowly intro student and have not produced much myself. The link is a project I read on The Journal of Digital Humanities about an incredible large and ambitious task being made far less so. John Resig is working on a tool called “image similarity analysis” that he hopes will allow him to match photographs of art to rid a massive archive of duplicates. The Frick Photoarchive contains 1.2 million photographs of artwork from all over the world and as John says, it can take individuals years to siphon through them all. His invention is fixing to save thousands of hours of tedious labour.
    Some great work!

    • The project seems very interesting! No need to think of yourself as a lowly intro student. We all began somewhere, and I still consider myself to be a beginner. Its great that you’re looking into other projects. If you could create anything, what would it be?

    • Liam that is a cool project!! I definitely think that a lot of people would utilize that tool! Thank you for posting it.
